A. The Homeroom Advisory Period
The Homeroom Advisory Period provides a transition situation where students are given some time and space to adjust from the home to the school environment. During this period, students are also reminded about school rules and regulations. It provides opportunities for the reinforcement of good manners and right conduct.
B. The Homeroom Guidance Period
The Homeroom Guidance Period is a once a week, one-hour meeting. It provides opportunities, learning experiences, and meaningful activities to develop and enhance the students’ behavioral, affective, and social skills. These are actualized through different activities like group dynamics, games, surveys, personality assessments, symposia, parent-daughter activities, self-expressions through oral , written, and art activities. The homeroom advisers act as facilitators and implement carefully planned activities in collaboration with the Guidance Center. The students are encouraged to participate in a relaxed atmosphere during the homeroom guidance period, thus, creating an opportunity for the adviser and her students to be bound by camaraderie, unity and respect.
